I have to say I am very excited that the semester is almost over, I'm sure like the rest of the students are as well. I have made it through my first year of college and I have to say that it feels great. It was definitely not easy. I have also learned a lot since coming to USF.

The first week of the 2008 season is now over and there have been some surprising outcomes. Teams are doing better than some expected and some are not doing so well at all. The poor Detroit Tigers haven't won one game yet and they were in the World Series just a couple years ago.

The American League East just got a little more interesting. Everyone knows that the Yankees and the Red Sox are the leaders in that division and that if the other teams want to make it into the playoffs they just better hope for a wild card spot.

Last Saturday was the Rays' annual Fan Fest. It is a chance for all the fans to come out to the ballpark and have a chance to meet all the players. I look forward to this every year, because everyone (including the players) is so excited for the baseball season to start.

A few weeks back at a McDonald's in Clearwater, a woman got arrested for not moving up in the drive-thru line. The elderly woman had been told by the cashier to move up to the last window and wait for her food.

The Tampa Bay Rays are now making strides in trying to improve the team. The new ownership has really been trying to make this a team that can compete on the same level as those teams that have a much higher payroll, like the Yankees or the Red Sox.
